Canonical
on 10 March 2015
Canonical is pleased to announce the addition of QCT (Quanta Cloud Technology), a leading global datacenter solution provider, to its Ubuntu Cloud Partner Programme. This extensive partnership includes QCT hardware certification on the Ubuntu OS, participation in Canonical’s OpenStack Interoperability Lab (OIL) and the joint design, validation, and promotion of OpenStack Cloud Reference Platforms.
Canonical and QCT have been working closely to bring to market a line of integrated OpenStack cloud solutions which include customer-ready SKUs for Proof-of-Concept, Production-Ready HA, and Production HA architecture. The production HA solution is also Open Compute Project-compliant. Download QCT Whitepaper
The solutions are built upon Ubuntu OS, MAAS and Juju tools, and the Canonical Distribution of Ubuntu OpenStack and are supported through Canonical’s Ubuntu Advantage Support Services. These solutions are designed with the purpose of making the acquisition and deployment of OpenStack based solutions simple and quick.
Mike Yang, general manager of QCT, is excited for the opportunity to offer customers an extended and more complete lineup of OpenStack cloud solutions: “Together, QCT and Canonical can deliver highly available OpenStack-powered clouds to our customers, with Canonical Ubuntu OpenStack on QCT datacenter hardware. Our customers can unlock the value of integrated solutions with clouds that combine rapid deployment with scaling as application demand grows. It’s all possible when partners join forces to deliver optimized and validated solutions.”
John Zannos, VP of Canonical’s Cloud Channel and Alliances, says: “We welcome QCT into the Ubuntu Cloud Partner Programme. QCT’s hardware platforms are the perfect vehicle to create cost-effective, optimized solutions with Canonical’s Ubuntu OpenStack. By combining QCT’s OCP compliant platforms with Ubuntu the market leading cloud OS and OpenStack distribution, you get an OpenStack solution that Telecommunication and Enterprise customers can build on. When you add Canonical’s Juju and MAAS tools you get an easy to deploy OpenStack solution. Working with QCT we are making OpenStack easy. ”
QCT will showcase the new OpenStack reference architecture in booth C6 at the Open Compute Project (OCP) U.S. Summit on March 10-11 in San Jose, Calif.
